Donna served as an interesting mirror for Dean. While she turned to filling the hole in her life during her “dark time” with food, Dean once again turns to alcohol. While Donna wanted to “feel pretty again”, Dean wants to feel useful again. Wants to feel like he’s doing more good than bad. Instead he is drowning, with his support system ripped out from under him, he has nowhere to go but down and I am more than a little worried about him and his very fragile mental state. :(
